I loved this book!! I was so sad when it was 1:30 AM because I realized I would have to put the book down and sleep. I just could NOT put it down! And I usually only like realistic fiction. However, this is an AWESOME book! My new fave!!!

I bought this book a looooooooooonnnnnnngggggggg time ago. And it took me even longer to actually pick it up and to read it. it didn't seem like the kind of thing i would read, and i was really relying on a decent plot to get me into the story. And boy did it deliver! It gave me more than just a great plot, but something that i could really get into. My mom often found me sat in some obscure corner with my nose to the pages of the book (Not literally, if it was then my nose would be inky). Anyway if you're one of those people who are perhaps debating whether or not to read this, then take a chance and get stuck in. Give it a go, I strongly, highly, deffinitely, *bla bla bla* recomend it.

I liked the book because it made you feel like you were one of the passengers aboard the Aurora, or like Matt/Kate on their adventures.

I think this is one of Oppel's greatest books. (besides firewing of course) I own the book and have read it a hundred times at least. i like espesially the part where they find the cloud cat. Its sooo cool he makes the air-ships seem like planes and it gives you a kind of combination of ships and planes of today... and it leaves you in a kind of in-between time of the times when those kind of ships where flying and now. That is one of the major things i like about it. For anybody who hasn't read it yet or any of the other books (silverwing, sunwing, firewing,*see the paturne?* dead water zone,..er...the live forever machene, ...um... i think thats it...) READ THEM THE'RE BRILLIANT!!...ALL OF THEM!! also keep and eye out for the ones that are coming out!

This book is an awsome read. I had to read it for Red Maple and I couldn't put it down at all. I'm suggesting it to all my friends. I only read the reviews and I think it sounds great.

This is definately one of my fave books- i read it in a day and i'm normally a slow reader. There are rumors of it being made into a film, with Liam Aiken as Matt Cruse, i just hope it's true!

i think that it was a very very good book. i enjoyed it because i found it fascinating how the auther describes the new kind of animal. I find that the way the auther discribes how the pirates enter the ship, and all of the charachters, is very interesting. i wouuld rate it a bit more than 9 out of ten, because i found it so good. the ending was well done, and i really want to read the next book. (i think there is one.)

This was a very good book. I realy liked how he always came up with something you never would have thought up to save them/him. The main character Matt always came up with something to save the air ship, to save himself and other, etc. He's smart, courageous-a bit unwilling to do things that he could lose his job over-and observant. This book realy is quite good and i would give it a 9 and a half for being so. This book realy makes you, at times, want to fly, it makes you want to go fly along in an air ship and do all the things mat does.over all I think it's a very good book and I would recommend it for people who like adventure stories.
Danielle, girl, age 13, from Wales, United Kingdom, on 19th August 2004. Rating: 9/10
This is a very good book. It has action and adventure in all the right places, and is gripping down to the last sentence. Oppel throws you into a world where people travel and work and live on airships and even introduces a new species of animal. The species are excellently described, and even the movement of them is described down to a t. Overall i give this book a 9/10, as it is sometimes slightly hard to believe how a young boy can survive all these things, then again it is a fiction book!
