Even if you're an older reader, or a teen like me, Inkheart and Inkspell are still great books! If you haven't read Inkspell yet you really should because in my opinion it is almost more interesting than Inkheart. What will the last book be called? When is it coming out? All I know is that I'll get a copy of it too. You're never to old to read a great story. :]

I absolutely loved Inkheart, i read Inkspell also, actually, i just finished it today. I can't wait until Inkdeath comes out though it might be a very long time... In the mean time I will probably read Cornelia's other books. If they're anything like the Inkbooks I will definately like them. They are making a movie out of Inkheart, it's coming out in theatres March 18, 2008. I can't wait, but I hope they don't ruin it.

I loved Inkheart. It is a very origional idea and an wonderfully eloborate plot. I love all the characters, yes, I love Capricorn and Basta too. Not particularly their personality, but they very good, unique characters. I have to say my favourite character is Dustfinger. He reminds me of Murtagh from Eragon (o.O). I think I am like him quite a lot...I like fire O.O I'm reading Inkspell, gosh I'm slow, and I like it ^_^ Inkheart inspired me to write my own trilogy, my first serious trilogy anyway. XD

IT WAS AWESOME!!!I could not put it down. I've read the squell and it was just as good, if not better, than the first book. For some odd reason I love the cliffhanger. It gives me something to look forward to. WOW! What a book. I love how she turned you one way just to go the opposite direction and how she had you hated a character on one page, only find that you feel sorry for him on the next. I can't for the next one!

I loved this book! I even read the sequal Inkspell. I wish she would make a third book. I couldn't put the book down once I started. It was absolutly great I've read it like 3 times. I mostly like reading her books cause they take you out of this world. I can't even explain how much it helped me to get angry one day and then go and read that book and just be so dazed when I finished. All I can really say that matters is that I love that book and its author and I can't wait till she makes a third book.

Wow...when I finished Inkheart I was suprised and a little let down. You see I had no idea that there would be two more books to come, and that we would see more of Basta and perhaps begin to understand the mystery that surrounded his survival. That very night however(the night I finished Inkheart) I was on the internet and realized ("Yes!") Inkspell was out! I was overjoyed! I finished Inkspell just a few minutes ago, as it happens, and man it was even better than Inkheart. Of course, it was quite heartrending as others who have finished it would know, but still, Inkspell will always be one of my favorite books. Cornelia Funke's series is so far probably one of the only books that could compete with Harry Potter.

Inkheart immediately drew my attention when I saw the cover and read the info, and after I read it, I cannot tell you how amazing it was! Then, even when I read it over fifteen times, I couldn't leave it anywhere! It went EVERYWHERE with me. When Inkspell came out, I asked my mom over and over and over again to take me to the book shop so I could get it.(I was victorious in the end ^_^)Now I carry that everywhere with me. I, honestly cried when ...he was my favorite character... Anyway, I loved those two alone (if it isn't obvious enough by now)and I cannot wait for the third book!!! THANK YOU, CORNELIA!!!!

I have read all of her books so far, and these are the only ones that i have actually bought. I remember when I first got Inkheart, I couldn't have imagined what kind of spell I was falling for. I just thought it looked like something to read, but boy! It was something to live in! I really admire her, and I just can't wait for Inkdeath(?) Well other books I recommend are: Harry Potter books, Books by Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events), all books by Margeret Haddix, and most of the books by Louis Lowry. If you are looking for some adventure, i really recommend these books as well as the rest of Cornelia's. Well, what else is there to say? Just, have fun and never hesitate to go on an adventure in one of your books. -Leah-

It was ok. Okay book, okay storyline, just okay. It was written sort of boringly, and with a few parts that didn't belong, but the idea of reading things/people out of a book is amazing. Funke does not do a good job of capturing the magial journey from Shadows of the Wind. I found myself laughing over the cheesy ending, with a big happy family, and Funke does a pretty bad job of trying to create a captivating thriller. Read The Theif Lord.

i hated this novel. i read half way and got bored. now, i would never have spent my time really hating this novel if it was original. when an author write, they should use their own ideas not some ones elses. Re written fairy tales are one thing, seeing as most authors are trying to bring back fairy tales to their former glory after Walt Disney ruined the very image of the Grimm Brothers. i had read half of inkheart first and i had then read The Shadow of the Wind. Inkheart pales in comparison to that book. If Funke had done a good job on the book i would have not been mad. it would be honnoring Carlos Ruiz Zafon. But after completley ruining the plot, it just made me really mad. Zafon is a genius and Funke goes and steals his idea. I can't even express my anger enough!!! to those who have read my messgae, if you ever do pick up The Shadow of the Wind, you will then understand my anger.

Inkheart is an extraordinary book. I had hardly read one chapter before I was completely spell bound. I read the book out loud to one of my friends and she went just as mad for it as I did. It is a book about books. And after I had read it cover to cover I felt very embarrassed that I did not read more of them. The first time I read it I had managed to read it in four days, the second time, three, the third, two. When my friend told me that there was going to be a sequel I practically turned the table over in joy. I recommend this book to people young and old! It is a book where imagination sores, where characters come to life, and where you might be transported into the magical land of Inkheart itself! Dare to read it allowed!

I had read The Thief Lord, thinking the book was okay, but I am more into stories about girls in a fantasy, maybe because I am a girl. When I first saw Inkheart it looked like it had a pretty cover, but I wasn't sure I wanted it because it didn't look like it had much fantasy. When I first started reading it though it went strait into interesting mode. It left out unimportant details at first, which I really liked. There were some parts though that I wish Funke could have got more into, like the fairies. The end sort of left me hanging though, because by the end I started to really like Fenoglio, but they just ... banished him and it seemed like Meggie would care more. oVERALL IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVER

Inkheart was one of the best books I have read. However, if you don't like long books - or you read it too often - it starts to get tedious. When you start to read, you wonder what it's like to be able to do something like read characters out of the book. How you couldn't control whether you read someone good or evil, weak or strong. How you would feel if someone wanted you to read something specific out. Inkheart isn't just a good read, it makes you think.

If you liked this book, give the Thief Lord a go. That one I just couldn't let down. Funke is an awesome writer. I would recommend her books to anyone. They're always interesting. I would love to have Meggie's powers, I read out all the characters I love, unless of course, they love they're books too much to leave. I absolutely loved Dustfinger's character! It was so innocent. I absolutely loved it, GO CORNELIA FUNKE!!

My first book I read by Cornelia Funke was Theif lord. I loved the book, and I decided that I would definitely read the book Inkheart, and when I started reading the book, I couldn't let go of it. I think Cornelia Funke has done a marvelous job by wring this book, and I am planning to purchase the sequel of Inkheart named Inkspell. I also think that Cornelia Funke should be proud of herself because when you read Inkheart, or any other books by her you will be fasinated by how she has bought her characters to life just by words. I also think she should write more stories, to keep the whole world happy. Just a suggestion I think she should write a sequal of Theif Lord. P.S. My favorite character in Inkheart was Meggie because she was so brave. ~ Sudiksha

Amazingly amazing (yes, I know that looks and sounds weird) Inkheart is very interesting and I reckon that if there's gonna be a sequel, Ms. Funke has left enough for an equally intriguing sequel. I really liked Inkheart and to everyone who's actually bothering to read my comment, I'll just like to give you a flick on the forehead and drag you by the scruff of the collar to your nearest bookstore to purchase this book. So. Read it, if you don't want to be dragged ^^

Inkheart is, as they all said, two thumbs up! (plus ten toes up) Ms. Funke is the bomb-and I heard was at it again in a sequel! It's called Inkspell. It might as well be the sequel, but it can't be better than Inkheart. Once I started reading it, it was superb. I couldn't wait to read more of it, page by page, chapter by chapter..............I finished the book and I wanted to read more. Ms. Funke made every word lead to another, every scene was vivid(in my mind's eye). Altogether, Ms. Funke deserves a sincere round of applause!!!

Boring!!!! The story at the beggining was wonderful and I thought; Wow, what an amazing book! But first impressions can be decieving and........well let's just say that Inkheart didn' end up on my list of books. I almost cryed when the library was burnt down and foun the book incredibly moving.......I found the book under the wonderful category till near the end when it 'went out of favor' with Matilda. Soon it was "Bye, bye book!"

This book is amazing in that Corneilia Funke manages to describe everything in pure vividness while keeping the book from becoming tedious. I am reading an Advanced Reader's Edition of the second book (yes, Inkheart is going to become the first in a trilogy) and it is just as captivating as the first. The only problem is that I have long thought of Dustfinger as a Gollum-like creature, with gray skin and long fingers, because all that has been described of him is his ginger hair and scars upon his cheek.

This book IS REALLY GOOD!I loved reading it so much! It took my breath away! I would not like to be Meggie in this book, cos it's quite hard to have a criminal trailing behind you all the time isn't it? But Meggie's my favourite charactor all the the same! It builds up suspense so much. I didn't know what on earth was going to happen, and I was up all night trying to find out but I didn't find out until the end because this book has so many twists and turns! I've read Dragon Rider and The Thief Lord as well as Inkheart. Cornelia Funke, I'm your Number One Fan!!!!!!!!!

I think that my favorite characters are Elinor, Dustfinger(even though he is a betrayer) Resa, and Meggie. I think Inkheart is the best book because it gives so much detail and makes you just ITCH to read more if you haven't finished it! GO CORNELIA FUNKE~ROCK ON!!!!!

THIS IS THE BEST BOOK THAT I HAVE READ IN MY LIFE!!!!! i don't know how Cornelia Funke thinks of all of these brilliant ideas for books. i heard that it will be made into a movie but i have to ask about that. i really hope that there is a sequal to this because i really enjoy reading Cornelia's books. i am deffinatly going to read it again. my favorite character is Mo because he is very secretive to Meggie. i also like Meggie's curiosity. she is awesome. my friend got this book for me for my birthday and i am glad she did because i never would have read it. i usually do not read fantasy books, but this one made me change my mind. IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK YET, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! -CHRISINE

This book is the best EVER. Farid and Dustfinger are the best. I felt sorry for them. I'm Cornelia's #1 fan so everyoen else better forget about it. I just kept reading it over and over. my friend currently has it. So far she thinks it's a great book. I now know she isn't totally wacko. ther's so much going on I dodnt get all of it in one cycle. I can't wait for a sequal, or a movie or something. The only hting I didnt like was the ending. I hope ther's a sequal because there's so many different questions. Does Dustfinger get home, I hope he does, poor guy. First he gets his face cut up, thrown out of his world, and then betrayed! The next book should give him a lucky break, but not cancel him out unti the end when he should be able to get home because he's so cool. I first read it because the cover looked so interesting. readign the other comments, others thought that too.

Inkheart is my favourite book in the whole wide world. I got it for Christmas last year and I've read it 12 times! I cried when I finished it because i didn't want it to be over! the sequel better come out soon ! Dustfinger is the best character!!! I felt sorry for him, but he was so cool!!! He can breathe fire and anyone who can do that is NOT a coward. I really hope he gets home. He has had no lucky breaks! He gets his face cut up, dragged out of his own world, betrayed by Capricorn and the woman he loves can't love him back! Come on,have some heart!!! At least he has Farid. Corneila, your the best! Please keep writing. Me and my friend have been trying to think of a sequel, but we can't!!! LOVE YA!!!! XOXOXOXO

Inkheart is one of the best books I've ever read, along with about a million other books. I like the way Silvertongue doesn't tell Meggie anything in the begining, because it makes the story very mysterious. My favorite charactors were Elinor and Dustfinger. I liked Elinor because she was so funny and predictable. I liked Dustfinger because I just felt sorry for the poor guy. He also has a cool pet ferret.

I think that the book INKHEART was the BEST BOOK I have ever read! And I seriously have read hundreds of books because i LOVE to read. I hope a sequel because left the story hanging, (which I like) about what happened to Dustfinger, the Magpie, and Basta. I also think that BBasta is an INCREDIBLE character who has a weird, different, but satisfying touch. I don't think that ANYONE could have done any better. Vandenjr93

Inkheart, in my opinion is THE BEST BOOK IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of the characters were exciting, the plot was fast-moving, and the setting was kinda-sorta realistic. One of the reasons I like it so much is becuse you can see Meggie's character change over her adventure. Another reason is the book almost brings you into the story, like Meggie and Mo can bring things out. I am so totally excited about the trilogy. I say if you haven't read it yet, read it, and if you have, read it again! :-)

In fact it was such a good book I may write one. This book made me feel like magic. It gave me so many good ideas for writing the many stories I write. I think, like the Diary of Anne Frank or the Bible everyone in the world should at least read Inkheart once. Cornelia Funke is a great writer and I've read all of her stories. My favorite character was Dustfinger. He was such a cool guy with such complicated feelings.I almost want to say I'd written Inkheart since its so good but I'm glad Cornelia Funke wrote it so I could enjoy the adventure of actually reading it!!!

Ithink this book was great. It had a wonderful plot with the chararcters explained well. My favorite character was Dustfinger. There were so many twists and turns I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. I recomend this book to any one who loves to read. Inkheart was so good I can't wait for the sequal to be published, hurry up! I want to read Dragon Rider, but have read some of the Thief Lord. The beginign of The Theif Lord wasn't as interesting and origonal as it was in Inkheart. The fact that Dustfinger switches sides just to get back to his home was origonal. Sorry, Cornelia, but the begining of The thief Lord din't sound as good. I rated this book a ten for its origonality. Byeeeee!

i thought this book was great. i was really dragged into the characters' personalities and the plot of the story was very well set. i think that this would be an excellent movie to make in the future because its so interesting. most people i know aren't too fond of fantasy books, but i think that it helps you to explore your imaginations and push your limits of creativity. i especially loved meggie because she seemed like such an innocent person at first, but then developed into a strong warrior that saved the day. i think she's an inspiration for aspiring heroines everywhere. thank you, ms. funke, for making everything i ever wanted in a book a reality!

I think that this book is ok, although I won't give it a 10 on the ratings, because the book beame very boring in a few parts, but very exciting is some parts. It is an average book but partly leans on the bad side. I know that many MANY people love this book, and I did in some parts, but it wasn't interesting at all times. Some parts just made me skim through the pages, and I kept looking at the page numbers to see when I was done. I wouldn't say this book is GREAT, but I wouldn't hate it though. However, I enjoyed Dragon Rider A LOT because the whole thing seemed so much like a real adventure!

This book is AWESOME!!! I loved it so much, I told all my friends to get it straight away! My friends asked me if it was good or not, and I said it was so good, it couldn't be described in words! I leant my friend Rachel Inkheart, and after she was done (which was in about 3 weeks) she said "This book is EXCELLENT! I should have did it for my book report!". My mom and dad sometimes read a few pages to me, and one time they loved chapter 9 so much that during my school day, my daddy took the book from my bookshelf and was reading it! When I came back home, I asked my dad where Inkheart was. Then he told me that he loved it so much, he couldn't even LET GO of it!! He even read it during dinner time that my mommy had to tell my dad to eat dinner or it would get cold! Usually my sister, Brianna would watch TV when she had nothing to do, but when my father said that this book was just irrestible to let go and not read, Brianna asked me and begged for Inkheart! It turns out that she told all of HER friends, and I am sure that Inkheart is loved by many readers and that Inkheart is a well-known book across United States! I EXTREMELY recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cover is very interesting, and that is what lured me into reading this wonderful book! Hurray Cornelia Funke!! I hope she writes a sequel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Wondeful Gril +*+*+*+*

Cornelia Funke writes good books... but I just love Dragron Riders. Inkheart is good, I gave it a 9 because it is also ending too soon, I like books that are long. Otherwise.. this is a good book. It is very interesting and it makes me shiver sometimes. Meggie is sweet, and I asked my teacher librarian at my school to buy 8 books of Inkheart. It turned out our whole school wanted to read it! Inkheart is very fascinating

Inkheart was one of the best books I ever read. I had to give it an 9 though because I think it ended to soon. Everything else though was great. Cornelia Funke gives such a good description of the characters that it feels as if they're standing right next to me. I also think it was wonderfull the way she decribed everything. It was great. I think this and Harry Potter are tied for my favorite book award. I just hope there is another book because as I said it ended to quick.

I couldn't believe the detail in this book! It was great and I would rated it a 10 because in the first paragraph it caught my eye and i felt like reading more. The detail in the first paragraph about the rain sounding as if fingers tapping on the window pane was marvelous and i would have never thought of such detail for any story that i have written for school assignments. I love to read Fantasy books and this one was the best. i can't think of a better book to read than Inkheart. Cornelia Funke is my fave.

I for one love this book. Cornelia is very amazing and has a brilliant imagination. I would be so happy if Cornelia made a sequel so I can see what happens to Meggie and Farid. A lot of loose strings were left in this book, though, and if Cornelia did make a sequel it would answer some questions that weren't answered in Inkheart. If you could type in your rating on this page where you write your comments instead of choosing from a list of 1 to 10 I would give it an 11.

I really did like the book, but... The ending of it just left too many questions. What did Dustfinger ever do with the book? How did Meggie, Mo, and Resa function as a family after finally being together again? Did Fenoglio like being in his own story? I was mostly curious about Dustfinger and Farid, though, since they were my favorite characters. Since the part where Farid was "read" out, there were hints of him liking Meggie. So that makes another question arrise: Did he and Meggie ever meet again? If so, what happened from there? Though, that really wouldn't be important enough to be in the book; I'm just an over-curious person. Overall, I did really like the book (you know that because I've said it already). It's just the ending I didn't like, which made me lower my rating to an eight.

Inkheart is a FATASTIC book! I absolutly loved it! The the plot was thrilling and complex and kept you on your toes! The Idea of characters being read out of your favourite fairytales into your world delighted me. THe book was so well thought up. I read this book on Christmas Day nad people had to tear me away from it to open my presents! I love Corneila'S unique style of writing and theis is my favourite of her work to date I can't wait for more of her books to be translated in English! Inkheart was a pleasure to read!!!

Cornelia Funke is currently my favourite childrens author, and Inkheart is my favourite of her books. Inkheart is full of so much magic. I always get really involved in the books I am reading and I really felt that I was there too, alongside Meggie and Dustfinger - I am just another dimension in the characters from one book in another book. I really like the concept that actually we could all just be characters in a book being read by someone else. I've read Dragonrider this week and cannot wait for more of Cornelia's books to be translated into English - she's wonderful!

I didn't enjoy this book at all! To keep my list of things breif: 1. No real character development 2. Took way too long to get to the point of the book 3. It took about 3 chapters for them to travel from the aunt's house to Capicorn's encampment. Tedious! All in all, a awfully boring book. Couldn't even finish it. I did, however LOVE Cornelia Funke's Theif Lord.
