The book was FANTASTIC!!! I loved every page of it and found it to have twists at every corner. It is the first book I have read by Melvin Burgess however it will not be the last. The book had interesting characters, good description and a story line that will make you unable to put it down. If you have not read it yet you simple must.

This is quite simpily the best book I have ever read! Number one: It had a good storyline! honestly how many books a in a "post apocoliptic" enviroment? that's what got my attention in the first place. Number two: It was easy to read! If you ask me, about half of the world's "less memorable" books would be so much better if they were not so "complicated". Number three: It kept my interest! Unlike the paper back sleeping pill, "The Old Man And The Sea" something happend! Whiether they were good or bad there was conflict! Conflict that was so important I was dieing to know "What happens next"?!! Number four: It had characters that every one could some how or some way relate to. I pesonally related my self to Styr. Ultimently "BloodTide" is a violent extravaganza! that hits you with strong forceful and unexpected events!! that leave you begging to know "What happens next! What happens next!!". A true work of art that takes your emotions and toys with them in a way that no "great" author like Hemmingway could.

i think that bloodtide really exemplifies the furious lusting after a fragment of hope or ( as siggy and signy had in this book) an idea of a reunited london, and what lengths a human will go to for a piece of ordinary hope. with treachery and death behind you and bleakness before you, i personally dont know how i would continue on in life, but siggy and signy's powerful bond and personality show that if you have the right attutude and if you're ruthlessly determined, you can honestly do anything(with a little help). But could the situations in bloodtide really be made better if everyone is surrounded by hatrid and lies, and can things really be made better if you've been brought up from birth in a world where killing is no different from loving, and a fierce fear and hatrid of the halfmen creatures living outside you're own city walls is a factor in everyday life? i thought this book was endlessly interesting as it gave us the answer to precisely this question. this is honestly my favourite book of all time. well one of them anyway. burgess is a genius. honestly.

I have read so many books, but this is truly my favourite! It is so exciting, and I couldn't bear to put it down! The thing I love about it is that you expect it to end one way, and it turns out totally different. I was a bit lost when I started reading it, but once you get to know all the charaters and there places in the book, it makes more sense and you love it even more! I took Bloodtide to school one day and I missed the entire day of learning because I was so absorbed in this book! Congratulations Melvin Burgess, you have captured my heart.:D

I Loved it! I have read the whole thing and i think i'm going to read it again. The beginning is hard to follow but more towards the middle it becomes clear. This is a book that I made time to read. It doesn't end at all like you would expect...That's the best part. The graphic details were so clear and showed true art. Also i didn't buy this book from some big store or company i bought it from a dollar store! So it goes to show the value of the book has nothing to do with the price-tag. This book was so good I dreamed about the story and sat-up and thought about it. You find it...Buy it!

i thought that this book was AMAZING! its a pretty simple storyline, but its presented in such a rich and complex way that it feels almosrt real. Its not a book for those who like romance, soppines, or happy ending- its filled with betrayal, gore, uncaring and literally unhuman characters. That was one of the few things that i disliked about the book- that tyhje characters were all so uncaring. I think that they could have showed more emotion- when Siggy's brothers are killed in front of him theres no rage or sorrow. Even so, the plot is totally gripping. My favourite character was Siggy- in the beginning he was just about the only character who wasnt ebjoying the warr, but its interestin to see how he finally gives in to what everyone expects of him and joins the war effort, eventually leading it.

Bloodtide is an amazing book! I have to say, i don't usually read books that are sci-fi- but bloodtide was just too good. It has so many genres- sci-fi, fantasy, romance, tragedy, adventure- and thay all fit in perfectly together to create a marvellous book. The whole thing about the gods makes it even more intriguing and compelling to read.It is a truly touching story. I thinkk whoever is redaind my review should definitely go out and try it for themdelves.
