This is a very hard book. Hard psychologicly. It shows the reader how one secret can almost kill a person. It speaks of lonliness and haterd.. and in Gemmas case of total ignorance. It speaks of life..

This book really explores bullinging from the victim's and the bully's points of view. I think it is good that the story is told from the points of view of the two characters equally and unlike some books from two views it is fairly easy to follow. I would definately recomend this book to a friend and will be reading other books by this author.

I loved this book, especially the way it showed how it would feel to have no mother. It also showed me some interesting things about the way a bully may often be treated at home

I think it is one of the best books I have ever read. I would also like 2 recommend "Theif" which is by Malorie Blackman too.

I found the book easy to get into and I loved it, until the second half of the book. From then on I found the parts about Mike repetitive, and I thought that it should have had more about Gemma looking for her mum.

I think this book is alright but its not great because it could be a bit boring at some times. I think that Mike is a good character because he shows you how hard it is on a child who's mother/father is in prison. Gemma is also a good character because she shows you how difficult it can be on a child who has lost his/her mother. The reason I think its a bit boring is because im into books that have some action in them.

This book was really stimulating! It had my heart racing and all I wanted to do his read on! I love all of Malorie Blackman's books - she has got a real talent! I think what made the book so good was the way Gemma just kept on using Mikes secret for getting what she wanted. If you haven't all ready then READ IT!!

I liked the short chapters with lots of dialogues, but the storyline did seem a bit unrealistic. I think if there was more tension and more feeling, it would make it more appealing.
